Not necessarily. You can click it from anywhere in the blog, just as long as you are logged in as a member. It won't be visible if you aren't logged in.

You then still need to select the category from the drop down list when you are compiling the post (same as before). I just did it this way, as it is prettier than doing it from the admin.
